Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (1920)

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was founded on January 16, 1920 at Howard University by five illustrious women: Arizona Cleaver, Myrtle Tyler, Viola Tyler, Fannie Pettie and Pearl Neal. The sorority upholds the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and the ideal of Finer Womanhood. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is the first Greek letter organization to charter chapters in Africa, the first to operate centrally from a national headquarters, the first to form adult and youth auxiliary groups, and the first to be constitutionally bound to a fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.
